The Great Empire of Kemet’s position on the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict

The senseless loss of innocent human life due to war is always a tragedy which perpetuates an endless cycle of poverty trauma displacement and insecurity. The Zindzi Mandela Foundation and The Great Empire of Kemet Movement are focused on the unification of Black/Afrikan people all over the world outside religion and politics in order to restore the dignity, character and wealth of the Black Nation on the Afrikan continent and in the diaspora.

Afrikans are to be found all over the world, some as descendants of ancient Afrikans who travelled the world imparting knowledge and skills to humans on different continents. Others were forcibly removed from the continent as enslaved beings who worked for centuries for white people and who built the West through their intelligence, and physical labor.

However despite the contributions of Afrikan people to the rest of the world, they find themselves oppressed wherever they may be including on the Continent itself.

We as a community are concerned for our Afrikan brothers and sisters in Palestine , who experience racism and inhumane treatment and the hand of both the Arab Palestinians and the Israelis.

The Afro-Palestinian community has a remarkable history.  Some are descendants of Afrikans who settled in that region in the 12th Century. Others are descendants of those who settled there during the Ottoman Empire (Circa 15th/16th Century). These Afrikans’ presence in the region predates the establishment of the state of Israel and Palestine as it is currently know. However they are the most disenfranchized of all the groups in the Gaza region, experiencing discrimination and subhuman treatment at times from both sides.

Poised at the intersection of their African ancestry and Palestinian nationality, this community also lives on contested ground, under the authority of Israeli forces occupying Jerusalem and other areas of Palestine. Many of the Afro-Palestinians who have protested Israeli occupation have found themselves detained, harassed or even imprisoned.  For a more detailed history The history of Afro-Palestinians, Past and Present .

Time and again the world witnesses that wherever there are Afrikan people, the face of their struggle is the Afrikan woman, Indlovukazi. Women are on the frontlines as well as struggling to keep their children and themselves safe from Israeli bombs which target hospitals and places where people are seeking refuge as internally displaced humans.

In conclusion GEK stands in solidarity with Afro-Palestinians who are part of the Black Family we are working tirelessly to unite. “UbuNtu- I am well if you are well also”
